AUSTIN, Texas – Speaker of the Texas House Dustin Burrows today announced the promotion of Kim Carmichael to Director of Communications, as well as announcing Haley Crow has joined the team as Press Secretary.

“Effective communication is important to ensuring Texans remain aware of the work of the Texas House and the achievements members are securing on their behalf,” said Speaker Burrows. “Kim and Haley bring the experience and professionalism needed to support members, highlight the accomplishments of the Texas House, and help keep Texans informed and engaged. As we look toward a productive 90th Legislative Session, I am confident this team will help us communicate that work while fostering meaningful dialogue with Texans across our state.”

Kim Carmichael has been promoted to Director of Communications for Speaker Burrows. She has held communications roles in the Speaker’s Office, the Governor’s Office, and the Texas Hospital Association. Her background also includes journalism experience with international newspapers and Fox News Digital.

Haley Crow has been named Press Secretary for Speaker Burrows. She has served in various communications roles in the U.S. Senate and the Governor’s Office. Crow earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
